This retreat was created to offer a safe space for women to retreat & take time for themselves. To allow their body, mind and soul to replenish, heal, and play in the ocean waves. Marie Soleil has made a connection with many local Mexicans after living there as a therapist & yoga teacher in a Retreat centre. These local Mexican women excel in their crafts and hold the nurturing & loving nature that Mexican women carry. Colibri an award winning chef, Adriana a healer/ ceremony guide, and Ilianet a longboard professional surfer. The warmth of their heart will touch yours, just like has touched mine.

Our wish is to offer the most loving, nurturing and fun retreat for other women to experience what the culture of Mexico has to offer at a deeper level. You will experience transformation and shifting into your own awareness towards a new relationship with yourself through community, wellness & time spent in nature.

Offerings will include a variety of transformational embodiment practices like: meditation, chi kung, pranayama, yoga, embodiment movement as medicine, yoga nidra, sound healing, ceremony, surfing and options to receive healing therapies.  Exploring your inner space through these practices will enliven the light within you, and build confidence in who you are. You will be able to surf through your internal landscape with ease & empowerment, and the goal is to be able to bring this new embodiment into your everyday.

Surfing is a practice of surrendering and patience. Playing in the waves brings us back to our child-like nature of playfulness. Combine with the healing properties of mother Ocean.

We have designed the retreat in a la carte (bespoke) so that you can sense what resonates for you when choosing an activity and to allow spontaneity & flow to be part of your journey. This is your retreat and we invite you to listen to what your intuition & wisdom is asking for. Many of us have lost that connection and my wish is to reawaken it within you.

We are offering this retreat to only 8 women to keep the experience intimate.

Let yourself be guided into an experience that will stay with you for a  lifetime.

Our healing sanctuary for the week will be in a beautiful beach house in Playa la Saladita, Mexico. Steps away from the Pacific Ocean and view of the surf break and sunsets.

This was an amazing experience! Marie-Soliel went above and beyond to ensure that we had the most fantastic experience; no detail was overlooked! From elegant accommodations, to the most amazing fresh and local food, to carefully curated healing experiences, having the details taken care of by Body Elements Retreats created space for a holiday filled with self-care, adventure, and beautiful sisterhoods. I always felt safe and supported, and, at 50 years old, I could choose as much or as little activity as I felt comfortable with. This was a life-changing trip and one that I highly recommend to anyone who wants to embrace their divine feminine and return home filled with joy and vitality!  Karen Furlong

SURFING LA SALADITA (aka the wave machine) claiming the longest lefts in Mexico, is a mellow and crumbly long left-hand river mouth point break. This wave offers something for every skill level. There’s plenty of room for beginners on the inside—to catch and ride green waves, not just whitewash. Intermediate and more advanced surfers can sit on the outside, and there’s plenty of room to pick your perfect position. Consistency is year-round with the best conditions during summer. It works best at low tide with a good south groundswell. Playa La Saladita is truly a longboarder’s paradise. Saladita surf sessions offer long rides, good vibes, and beautiful surroundings. Surf pioneers first started visiting the break in the mid-1970s, with the first official lodging opening in 1998, and electricity only arriving in 2000. It’s still a teensy village dedicated almost exclusively to fishing and surfing.

While this is a very forgiving break, and a great place to learn, do take the proper precautions. This wave attracts crowds, so you’ll need to have a good sense of how to surf around other people in order to avoid collisions.

SURFBOARDS I recommend renting a board from the local shops here, there are lots of great choices for longboards. Unless you are a short boarder, then the selection is thinner. The cost is roughly $100 USD/ week to rent a board here on the beach. Most airlines will charge around $200 USD one way to check your board.

HEALING CEREMONIES

Sacred Cacao Ceremony & Sound Healing Offered by a Local Mexican Shaman

Cacao is a local plant that has been used medicinally and ceremonially in this region for thousands of years. It has an ancient history and is part of the mythos in Mesoamerica and in Mexico in particular. It has the unique ability to open the heart and connect us with pure joy and a sense of childlike wonder. It’s also an incredible tool for meditation and inner journeying.

The cacao we use is locally grown and prepared by us from the raw bean form. We make it into a beautiful cacao tea that is delicious, vegan, and full of nutrients.

This ceremony lasts for approximately 2 hours and begins with a ritual smudge/cleanse with local plants, followed by drinking the cacao. You will be guided through prayer, meditation, and an inner journey. Each ceremony is unique but usually begins with the origin story of cacao and how it interacts with us today. Sound healing instruments are played to deepen the experience, and some commonly used themes and practices include honouring and connecting with the elements and nature, chakra clearing and balancing, medicine drum journeying, breathwork, mantra and meditation.

This is a uniquely beautiful experience the combination of cacao medicine, the journey, the ocean, mountains, wind and sun create a beautiful portal for joy and healing.

Group Acupuncture and Yoga Nidra

This acupuncture session is designed to detox your body, relax your mind, and soothe your soul. By placing small, sterile, single use needles in specific points in each ear and occasionally in other points of the body we support your vital organs and pacify the spirit. The needles stay in for approximately 40-60 minutes. Some of the benefits that you may experience are: •Increased calmness, better sleep, reduced agitation •Relief from stress & emotional trauma •A discovery of inner quiet & strength •A reduced craving for alcohol and drugs, including nicotine.

While the acupuncture is working on your chi ( energy body) you will be guided with the practice of yoga nidra. Known as Psychic Sleep, nidra takes us in a state between sleeping and waking. Helps reconnects and reawakens our inner wisdom. Nidra helps to restore balance to your nervous system by empowering you to release stress, anxiety and other blocks from within. During yoga nidra you will be lying down on your back comfortably in savasana. You will turn your awareness inward by listening to a set of instructions; much like a guided meditation. Yoga nidra practice results in deep relaxation and expands the individual's self-awareness, feeling more focused, calm & creative.

Optional Teonanacalt Ceremony

We offer fully guided ceremonies with teonanácatl, also known as psilocybin mushroom. These ceremonies are held with prayer and intention, and with respect towards the medicine they hold. This medicine supports our mental and spiritual growth and healing, as well as connecting us to this land and the lineage in which they are rooted. They may alleviate depression and anxiety, enhance creativity, insight, and perspective. They support our living a more meaningful, purposeful, and joyful life. We may receive clarity around aspects of our identity, relationships, and support the release of stagnant energy and traumas. When taken with intention and in an appropriate setting, sacred mushrooms can create space for deep and transformative healing work to take place. This ceremony lasts for approximately 5-6 hours and takes place in our shaded, beachfront yoga shala. Our location is surrounded by ¾ acre of forest. You will be provided with a yoga mat and use of our blankets, bolsters, and eye masks.

Temazcal: The Natural Healing of the Ancient Toltecs

Traditional sweat lodge and healing ceremony under the guidance of a traditionally trained Shaman. Medicinal plants are being brewed and poured over the hot rocks, which provides steam to inhale their healing properties.

Inside temazcal you live many emotions, you overcome fears that at the time you thought you would never leave. We are warriors inside and outside the temazcal.

Benefits: detoxify the body, eliminate toxins, increase circulation, cleanse the digestive system, benefits respiratory problems, help bone healing, reduce stress and anxiety, help menstrual irregularity, helps with skin toning, encourage reflection and clarity.

OPTIONAL ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES:

Mountain Hike into a Limestone cave (Ancient geology and site)

Experience this incredible hike (moderately strenuous) to the top of the mountain through our lush jungle. Trek into the giant chamber and learn about the geological origins of this limestone cavern. Admire stalactites, stalagmites and flowstones. See ancient carvings,  indicating the use of the site as a ceremonial center and astronomical observatory for the prediction of agriculture, rains and drought cycles. A short guided Meditation will take to bath into the silence of the cave in harmony with some sound healing frequencies.

  • Note that these 2 tours are not tourists attraction, it will be most likely private for our group depending on the numbers who are interested. The guides at Costa Nativa are very knowledgeable about flora, fauna, geology, marine biology, and are passionate about sharing. You will learn so much!

MARIE-SOLEIL

“Within each and everyone of us resides the potential for healing, where harmony and balance can be reinstated, if awareness is brought into the conscious mind.”

She is the founder of Body Elements which offers healing therapies, yoga, workshops, retreats. She is a lover of the outdoors with surfing and stand up paddling being two of her favorite ways to connect with nature. She is passionate about sharing her means of connecting with the outdoors with other women.  She cares to help facilitate not only the physical practice of moving in nature, but also the metaphorical aspect of paddling into a new way of being.

Her wish, amongst all that she offers, is to assist others in realizing their own potential as human beings; by sharing knowledge on how to bring more awareness into daily choices, and how to open up to opportunities to live life to its full potential.

Marie-Soleil started learning and practicing yoga in 1997, and it became her way to balance and harmonized her body and mind. Yoga became her way of living by incorporating into her daily life. She started teaching much later after many years of learning about the body, mind , soul first through many healing therapies modalities and later with the study of Yoga. She loves to guide others to become more embodied through the teachings and practices of yoga ( movement, breath and meditation).

ADRIANA

Adriana is an ordained Minister of Walking Prayer, Healer, Acupuncture Detox Specialist, and Yogini. She facilitates medicine ceremonies, yoga, sound healing, and offers acupuncture and healing sessions. Her ministry is inclusive, with a focus on indigenous wisdom traditions. Adriana worked with some of the most marginalized people in America~ undocumented citizens, the homeless, and incarcerated youth with disabilities. A career in social justice law was redirected by an acute episode of spiritual awakening- an initiation of Spirit. After leaving her career behind in Austin, Adriana began participating in sweat lodge and medicine ceremonies before going back to school to become a minister, yoga instructor, and healer.  Years of intensive practice and calling for a vision brought in Radiant Heart Yoga & Ceremonial Arts.

As a bi-cultural woman of color in America, Adriana decided that the best way to access and remember her lineage and traditions was to return to her ancestral homeland of Mexico.  There, she found a home for Radiant Heart Yoga, and developed it as a space for healing and transformative personal and collective work, set in a small and peaceful town on the southern Pacific coast of Mexico.
